Peter Morriss qualified as a Scottish Chartered Accountant in the late sixties with Thomson McLintock & Co and was seconded to its associated management services firm where he trained as a programmer/analyst. He returned to the accounting firm and joined the Computer Audit Department. He was heavily involved in exploring the use of programming for audit purposes and in the development of generalised retrieval software. He was appointed partner in 1977.

During his career in Computer Audit and latterly Security he has been involved with a wide range of commercial and public sector organisations and has experienced the issues as systems have become increasingly integrated, complex and inter-connected. He has always had a particular interest in the management and people issues surrounding computing.

Peter has been a Visiting Fellow to the City University Business School where he was a contributor to under-graduate, post graduate and short courses. He has lectured widely on Risk and Control topics and has chaired many seminars and conferences both in the UK and abroad.

For the past five years Peter has headed the Global Information Risk Management Practice of KPMG.
