Professor Subhash Bhatnagar is currently at the World Bank in Washington (on leave from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad) where he leads an initiative on Electronic Government in the Public Sector Group of the PREM Network. At IIMA he held the CMC Chair in Information Technology and was a member of the board of governors. In the past he has served as the Dean of IIMA.

Prof Bhatnagar founded a new Working Group in the International Federation of Information Processing called Social Implications of Computers in Developing Countries which he chaired for 6 years from 1989-95. He is the chief editor of the international Journal on IT and Development published by IOS press. He was selected to be a Fellow of the Computer Society of India in 1995 in recognition of his contributions.
