Smoke Signal Broadcasting, Inc., of Westlake Village,
California produced the Chieftain microprocessors. Chieftain I. The Chieftain I was based on the 6800 microprocessor, came with 32K RAM, expandable to 64K, two serial I/O ports, a 2 MHz processor board and 2K RAM monitor. |
| It came in a leather-grained cabinet with cooling fan, two 5-1/4 inch
diskette drives and power supply. Chieftain II. Same as the Chieftain I but with two 8 inch floppy drives. The Chieftain systems started at $2,595. They were available in 1979. |
